Dr. Ajay Amarnani
Dr. Ajay Amarnani is a Board-Certified Dermatologist, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Amarnani received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Wisconsin and his M.D. from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He then completed an Internship at Akron City Hospital and Dermatology Residency at SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. During his training, he was nominated for the Gold Humanism Honor Society and has contributed to the field of dermatology with multiple scientific publications. Dr. Amarnani’s work has also been presented at both regional and national meetings including the Annual Meeting of The American Society of Dermatopathology. Before entering medicine, he was a middle school teacher for Teach for America Corps, which aims to eliminate inequalities in childhood education. He has also volunteered in the Lighthouse Medical Clinic in New York for the last four years. Dr. Amarnani specializes in cosmetic and anti-aging treatments including Botox, Dysport, Juvederm and Restylane fillers, as well as multiple laser and body contouring devices. He also specializes in the treatment of leg veins. In addition, Dr. Amarnani also worked at the Buffalo Veterans Hospital, where he had a special focus on the treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Lauren Barnes
Dr. Lauren Barnes is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She is also a member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and served in the part as a Resident Liaison for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Barnes received her B.S. in Biology with a second major in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her M.D. from Wake Forest University School of Medicine with an Academic Merit Award. She then completed an Internship at Wake Forest University and will complete her Dermatology Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in June.
Dr. Barnes is our new American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Cosmetic Dermatology Fellow. Dr. Barnes has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology and anti-aging treatments as well as laser surgery, skin cancer and medical dermatology. She has published research articles and has spoken at National Medical Meetings. Dr. Barnes also served as a Teach for America Corps member in the past in Durham, NC.
Ashley Reich, RN
Ashley is a Registered Nurse (RN) and member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Ashley started her career in a plastic surgery office where she gained an extensive knowledge of anti-aging procedures and products. Ashley joined the Laser & Cosmetic Center 15 years ago and she has extensive experience working with Dr McDaniel with various laser and anti-aging procedures including IPL treatments, Botox®, laser hair removal, LED photomodulation, Fraxel®, laser tattoo removal, sclerotherapy, pigmented lesion laser treatments, radio frequency skin tightening & body contouring, Ultherapy®, and Zeltiq™ and Vanquish™. Ashley can help advise you about treatments and professional products tailored to your individual needs.
Terri Madey, RN
Terri is a Registered Nurse (RN) with twenty years of dermatology experience. She has been working with Dr. McDaniel for the past seventeen, assisting while he performs various anti-aging treatments including consultations, Botox®, Juvéderm®, LED photomodulation, Fraxel® and other laser skin treatments, sclerotherapy, and more. She is very knowledgeable about cosmetic treatments. One patient describes Terri as “the most calming and reassuring person she has ever had to deal with.”
Kelly Deinstadt, LME
Kelly is a licensed Master Esthetician with 10 years’ experience in cosmetic skin care. Results oriented by nature, Kelly’s passion for skin care especially focuses on lasers after experiencing all the changes and positive impacts they make in patients’ lives. Kelly performs and provides progressive treatments to include microneedling, dermablading, chemical peels, microdermabrasions, IPL photo facials, laser hair removal, and vein removal. She is a part of the “Look Good, Feel Good” organization which is designed to teach women how to properly care for their skin after chemotherapy and radiation. Kelly also has certification in sports nutrition and she loves to incorporate healthy lifestyle changes with patients to enhance their results and overall well-being.
Ashley Driskill, BS
Ashley Driskill is a Christopher Newport University Graduate with a Bachelors’ of Science in Biology. Ashley has a broad realm of medical experience from transplant tissue recovery and research, cosmetic and oral surgery, as well as ophthalmology. She has a passion for cosmetics and esthetics and enjoys establishing long-lasting relationships with our patients.
Aubrey LeBlanc, MA
Aubrey has more than 10 years of experience in the beauty industry where she created a strong client and customer service reputation. Aubrey started her career in Orlando, FL where she became a Licensed Cosmetologist and now serves as a medical assistant. Her goal is to not only make you feel comfortable and informed of all procedures, but also to make you feel like you are a part of our family from the moment you walk through our front door.
Wendy Mikos, MA
Wendy is a Medical Assistant with over two decades of experience in Dermatology and Ophthalmology. Wendy has counseled and assisted on many surgeries including LASIK and Blepharoplasty. Patients know her as being very compassionate and dedicated to making sure every patient feels comfortable and well informed about their treatment.
Brittany Smith, MA
Brittany serves as a certified medical assistant. She holds an associate’s degree in applied health science. She has experience in many fields including facial plastic surgery, otolaryngology, family medicine, and pulmonology. Brittany enjoys helping patients to make their visits as educational, enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
