Exilis

What is Exilis?

Exilis is an FDA-cleared aesthetic device that delivers highly controlled, volumetric heating to tissue for measurable cosmetic results. Scientifically proven and clinically tested, Exilis uses focused high frequency energy to improve appearances by reducing wrinkles and treating laxity—typically in four to six comfortable treatment sessions.

FAQ

What is the Exilis procedure?  How does it work?

During the session, the Exilis computer-controlled device is guided over the treatment area. Patients feel a warming sensation as the energy is delivered to the deeper layers of skin. The ability to focus the energy on specific areas at the targeted depth of penetration makes Exilis a highly effective aesthetic solution. The device’s  cooling system allows treatment to heat deep tissue as its constant monitoring of the skin’s temperature facilitates a comfortable, even treatment The Exilis treatments cause the collagen supporting tissue to remodel, thereby stimulating and strengthening the collagen network to improve skin laxity, texture and tighten and tone.

How many treatments will I need?  How long will the results last?

The recommended course of treatment is generally four and sometime up to six sessions, one every two weeks. You can have additional treatments if desired. Patients typically continue to see improvement for up to 6 months after their last treatment.

Is It Safe?

Exilis has been tested in clinical studies and documented a good record for safety. It has been cleared by the FDA in the U.S. for use in dermatologic and aesthetic procedures with indications for non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and rhytids.

What about recovery?

Some redness on the treated area may last for about 30 minutes to a few hours or longer. Patients may increase water intake on the day of treatment and the day after, and should engage in light exercise such as walking.

Who is a candidate for Exilis?

Typically patients between the ages of 25 and 70 or older who desire cosmetic improvement, particularly those areas that show the signs of aging,   and have not responded to other treatment options. Exilis treatment offers cosmetic improvement without surgery.
